My objective for this blog is to share many aspects of my new life here in Barbados, ranging from books to food to travels and exploring the island. Whilst I have time on my hands to finally sit down and write, I also find that I have time on my hands to sit down and read; one of my favourite and most relaxing hobbies.
As I’m not a member of any book clubs here, I’ve been considering how I can share my joy of reading, and the books that I have read and hopefully create a two way dialogue with other like minded people. Currently I have decided to do that via my Barefoot in Barbados blog and until I come up with another mechanism, I will post my reviews under the strap-line of ‘A Novel Idea….’. I hope to post one a week, but don’t despair if time runs away with me and I can’t get through a book in that time. If there is a lapse in time before the next review is published, why not share what you are reading with me, either via this page, my Facebook page (@barefootinbados) or Twitter (@barefootbados).

Will do. I find I read a lot! Reading Castaway by Lucy Irvine at the moment. Connected with her last year via fb and helping with some sponsorship for an animal project she has going on in Bulgaria. Just about to sign up for a Diploma in Journalism, which will help with the blog and hopefully let me expand beyond that. I look forward to reading your book!
